Well, who needs that quick meal once in a while? You now have one, the good old Tuna Casserole.
Again, this was a great favourite with my family whilst growing up. A quick and easy one for mum to cook as we kids were in and out playing sport.
Tuna is a source of high-quality protein with almost no fat. It contains all essential amino acids required by the body for growth and maintenance of lean muscle tissue.
1 large can of tuna
1 cup cooked peas
1 cup cooked rice
2 tablespoons butter
1 small chopped onion
2 tablespoons of plain flour
1 cup milk
1/2 teaspoon salt, pinch of pepper
1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
2 tomatoes, thinly sliced
1/2 cup grated cheese
I LOVE white sauce, so I actually doubled the mixture for the sauce ingredients above.
Grab some garlic bread and away you go!!!
