Merry Christmas Everyone – The ‘silly’ season is upon us!!!

What a year it has been for not just Australia but the world.  I hope you are all coming out of it well.  For some, it will be a tough Christmas so I am thinking of you as I know tough times myself.

I am going to share with you a beautiful slice I enjoyed over twenty years ago in my Playgroup years with my two children.  One of the mothers made this favourite slice for us around Christmas time each year, her name was Brooke, so she called it, “Brooke’s Hazelnut Slice” – so easy and so yummy.

Ingredients

1 packet Milk Coffee Biscuits, crushed
120g butter
50g slivered almonds
1 x 250g block Hazelnut Chocolate
1/2 tin condensed milk
2 tablespoons golden syrup
60g copha

Method

  1. Add almonds to crushed biscuits
  2. Place condensed milk, golden syrup and butter in a saucepan
  3. Cook over low heat until combined
  4. Add biscuit mix
  5. Place in a foil lined slice tin
  6. Melt copha and chocolate
  7. Pour over slice base
  8. Refrigerate until set
  9. Cut into squares

AGAIN!!! How easy was that!!! Beautiful for the Festive Season celebrations with family and friends.

You may like to substitute copha with a tspn of coconut oil. Maybe substitute the slivered almonds with flaked almonds.
